Kilmallock schools have a long history and tradition of Music and Singing. All classes teach singing and take music classes with Joan Slattery. We have a school choir which comprises of all children from 3rd class to 6th class. This choir sings for the First Holy Communion each year and for the Confirmation every second year. The choir also goes carol singing at the Mart every Christmas.
All classes from 1st to 4th learn tin whistle and 5th and 6th classes learn recorder. Other children sometimes bring an instrument to school and we do our best to include these in our musical performances.
Other musical events in the school include a yearly drumming workshop and an in-house musical recital with Joan Slattery, our specialist music teacher who visits weekly.
